The site is recognized for three suicides carried out by individuals of the Lemp family. The William J. Lemp Brewing Co., was a dominant force in the United States beer market prior to Prohibition, particularly recognized for its Falstaff beer brand. It is reported that the mansion is haunted by the spirits of the Lemp family members. The Lemp Mansion has been transformed into a restaurant and additionally provides overnight lodging.
