Explore a unique piece of American history: Timberline Lodge. The iconic lodge sits at an elevation of nearly 6,000 feet in the Mount Hood National Forest in Oregon. Built in 1937, Timberline Lodge was created as an initiative by President Franklin Roosevelt to stimulate the struggling economy and give jobs to thousands of unemployed citizens during the Great Depression.
